Description.

Third and last of the days touring the coast of Murcia. Today the company will not leave the sea at any time by following the path almost entirely of GR 92. It reviews some of the places still little affected by tourism, and thus better preserved left on the coast of Murcia. Among them are the protected landscape of the Sierra de las Moreras, and the Regional Park Tips Calnegre and Cabo Cope.

Tour that alternates between flat coastal plains with its beaches and salt marshes, with steep hills and deep ravines dug gullies, hiding hidden coves. Vegetation typical of arid Mediterranean environment (palm thorn scrub and thorn-in-black, covered areas and albardine esparto.

Short day, less than 50 km, but really rompepiernas, a fact which shows that not more than 80 meters high, the cumulative altitude of 500 m. Much of the route is, crossing numerous gullies, the tracks and trails that provide access to the beaches, with its attendant ups and downs. Also passage through the Sierra de las Moreras and the foothills of the Lomo de Bas for clues that due to neglect are in poor condition. To emphasize the latter, which presents a difficult stretch for the bike path, which requires some "wheeling." All this means that the stage is, at least, demanding.

Profile.

Chronicle.

It leaves Puerto de Mazarrón following the D-6 Bolnuevo direction, where you can stop to visit the Torre de los Caballeros and to see the strange ways of "Ciudad Encantada" . A little later, in Urbanisation Punta Bella, left the pavement to cross the access road to the beaches of Rincon and Stone Mala.

Bolnuevo Enchanted City

The track runs along the sunny side of the Sierra de las Moreras below the summit the White Peppers, and gives access to the beaches and coves from Bolnuevo until Covaticas. After crossing the Rambla de Villalba, the profile is smoothed to explore the coastal plain, where the Ramblas lead Ramonete Pastrana and discharging water from the Sierra de la Almenara, and where they settle and Calnegre The Covaticas. Broad and long beaches landscape that encourages cycling.

Morrón Blanco. Sierra de las Moreras

Following the Camino de la Costa, near the beaches Cabezo Covaticas fight and, we got to Percheles, from where Hill comes to Parazuelos. Short but tough climb higher with firm badly decomposed, which forces me to push a few meters. I pass a "foreigner" in bicycle equipment down quietly with a little "rustic" (shorts, Cholas and fruit box). After a short descent, continue along the Camino de la Galera to Punta de Calnegre.

Going to Alto de Parazuelos

Here begins one of the toughest stretches of the day, and in general, the TransMurciana. In Calnegre tips take the road D-21, which quickly leaves to track which gives access to the beaches of Lorca (Calnegre, Women and Siscal), which delves into the foothills of the Lomo de Bas between Siscal Peak and Baker. From the small hill and can be distinguished on the horizon Cocón and Cabo Cope. The track runs along the beach almost Calnegre without losing altitude until a new colladito. Start the ups and downs. The track visits on the beach and the Women's Restroom Siscal beach, with their corresponding "Rampone" both down and up. And we will not Cala Honda that does not reach the runway, which if not ...

Cabo de Cope, Bath Women and Lomo de Bas

Siscal From the Beach, a disused rail track, (very rocky and stark sign) get higher (another "Rampone") to the House of French toast and continues along the hillside. Unfortunately some avenue has done away with the passing of one of the ravines that descend from Lomo de Bas. Touch down, with small villages looking for the safest way, to bottom of the ravine and then climb the same way. Biking, complicated fall, can not climb.

Lomo de Bas Barrancos

The difficulties do not end here. With the ruins of the headquarters of Cisco to view, track, already in bad shape if it becomes path descends steeply down the ravine. Installment required to walk, bicycle loaded with sensitive and saddlebags. End of complications by the station starts a track that gives access to beaches.

Descent to the headquarters of Cisco

Once left behind the Lomo de Bas, another large coastal plain that reaches Cope. But it is not as flat as it seems, as we will have to cross many gullies (including those of Garrobillo, the Galley, the Cat or pine) that drain the Sierra de los Mayorales and the Lomo de Bas. Besides all the way is a succession of ups and downs to the beaches, with the complication of some sections of track and rocky trails quite difficult. The worst thing we found between the beach of iron, Cala Blanca and Playa de la Galera. A stretch of "empujing" Across the Rambla del Cantal and the output of the beach Irons.

Cala Blanca

In Cope, with his tower, the trail ends and the track, to continue what is Road to Eagles. First in the D-15 (little traffic) Calabardina to Todosol, where it joins the D-14 (high traffic) leading to Eagles. It is best to take the Ring Road (bike lane to the Eroski), to access the waterfront near the Congress Palace (currently under construction, like the ride). If you want to visit the Bay of Stove and ore dock is the time to deviate, since it is very close.

Cope Castle

Once in port, is find accommodation. This time will not be easy, and requires to many laps. Pension 2 * Hill last year, the person carrying the board 2 * Madrid is not, and the Board 1 * Guillén no one answers (I'm not sure it continues to operate). In the end, a little tired, I find the board Ramonetero (Eagle restaurant d'Oro).

As soon, I will devote the afternoon to visit the city and up to the castle. The Castillo de San Juan de las Aguilas, completely restored and has an interpretive center, worth a visit.

Eagles from the Castillo de San Juan

Accommodation: Guesthouse 2 * Ramonetero. 15 €. Although the room is a bit small, but well worth price. Slightly hidden but close to downtown. Bar-restaurant has very good looking.
