Description:
From Lorca, capital of Upper Guadalentín, follow the river to the reservoir Guadalentín Bridge. After climbing the Lomas del Vulture, dates Turillo River Valley, through Zarzilla Palm to birth that marks the upper limit of Lorca fields. Overcome The Puertecico near the Sale of Revueltas, left the basin by the river Turillo Quipar, on the banks of which ended up in the Almudema. The entire route follows the road High Guadalentín-GR 253.
The broad valley of the river promenade Guadalentín, with its high slopes and vegetation, tamarisk and reed beds will be our partner the first few miles, to complete the fields Altos de Lorca, with its extensive rainfed crops, Almond and cereal, among bare rounded hills. Mountains by now quite modest but on the horizon, the snow on the Sierra de María-Los Vélez, promises greater heights tomorrow.
Stage quiet without much difficulty, about 60 km and 700 m. promotion, all paved road or, in general, good sign. Just to keep in mind that, although very mildly, is all on the rise. My intention was to continue a few kilometers to Casablanca, but no accommodation (as of today, still running the restaurant but no longer have room).
Lorca I cross the Plaza del Caño, the Collegiate Church of St. Patrick and the Porch of San Antonio, out of Lorca near the Visitor Center next to the Stone Bridge on Guadalentín. After a few yards down the road to the castle, along a trail descended to the river will continue at all times until near the dam of Bridges. The track, in good condition and providing access to holdings aggregates in good shape, margin changes several times (one of the wading near the Casa del Batan, could cause difficulties with much water).
is Sunday and I forward several groups of bikers. In addition to the red and white, yellow arrows appear first (painted by the Association Lorca-Santiago they should link to the southeastern Murcia Camino), I find exciting partners of many of my travels and so far from Santiago de Compostela.

track near the dam hits the road C-15 which gives access to the dam. Find enough people as there is an orienteering competition. After hard to go up a ramp to the height of the dam, the track continues for a few yards along the reservoir to the entrance to the estate of the Feather. Good overview of the High Sierras in Lorca, Pericay and Mortar.
Breads Casa Barranco
already on track, turn left to go up the ravine of the Loaves (a rocky stretch of track) which is covered with pine boxes, between the Hill and the head of the Vulture Mine. In the Casa del Fraile, we left the forest to plow large areas of cultivated lands, pastures and fallow land, Turillo Valley. Leaving on our right Cañada Hermosa, head head pass between the Black and the Sierra Pinoso, parallel to Turillo to the C-14, which after the river enters Zarzilla (Bar-inn and grocery store). Among the Sierras de Pericay and Mortar, at times they are shining in the distance, the snow covering the peaks of the Andalusian Sierra de María-Los Velez .

Zarzilla Palm stop in for coffee. Is 12:00, and doubts about the final stage are resolved. The remaining 30 km Almudema and others almost 40 and Cañada de la Cruz. Too far and a fair bit of daylight hours. Stop at the Almudema.
Under the Cerro del Sordo, the C-14 (without traffic) takes us to the corner, to move towards Cerro Don Gonzalo along a paved road, we left to cross the dry bed of Turillo in the Place of La Paca. Parallel to the road of Lorca Caravaca C-3211 to turn northward, and after passing under the bridge, surrounded the hill on the Camino de Don Gonzalo in the direction of Doña Inés and Coy.
briefly leave the High Road Guadalentín-GR253, since this follows the Pocico Road to El Puertecico. The TransMurciana continues along the Camino de Don Gonzalo (tarmac) to Coy and Canillas Road to the MU-504 by Collado of Cañadillas. Both tours meet at the cross road to the Puertecico Tornajo Feet.
In the 17 km marker of the asphalt left by the Camino de Caravaca Lorca (track good sign) to reach the Sale of Revueltas, the point where we change the basin by the Quipar Turillo. A little later, at the Corral of Revueltas, we definitely Guadalentín High Road, which continues to Caravaca de la Cruz, to descend to the Almudema. To facilitate access for pilgrims to shelter a small red crosses mark the route Caravaca. We can only cross the river Quipar and enter the village.
Accommodation: Hostel Rural La Almudema . 18 €. Hostel created for the Holy Year 2010, is the only one found is still open and running it (the rest only work for groups). Modern and well appointed (one of the best hostels for pilgrims from all I've slept in my many ways), family treatment, it can be lunch and dinner. Rooms with bunk beds with sheets. The town has another bar, supermarket and pharmacy. Route goes here Ecotourism Archivel-La Encarnación.
Other Lodging:
- Caravaca de la Cruz: Hotel 2 * Malena (in the C-330 to 6.9 km from La Almudema) and Hotel 2 * El Zorro (in Barranda, 7 km from La Almudema). Both outside the TransMurciana.
TransMurciana "on demand"
- From Lorca is possible to continue to Totana ( Alternative ENL04 Lorca-Totana).
- From the Corral of the riots, very near La Almudema, you can continue to Caravaca Cross ( Alternative Dona Ines ENL02 Caravaca) along the High Road Guadalentín-GR 253 .
